Congratulations to Bill and Cathy Waldron,
2007's leading owners for the third straight
year with over $380,000 in earnings. Bill Waldron
was also the leading trainer by earnings. With
his mounts earning $259,606, William Hollick
was the leading rider, only $1,200 in front
of runner-up Gabriel Saez. Saez, however, won
23 races compared to Hollick's 20. Bosted by
wins in the UAE Equestrian and Racing Federation
S. (G1) and Bob Magness Derby (G1), Fryvolous,
who raced this year for Dianne Waldron before
being sold, was the leading earner with over
$106,000.

We've Gone the Distance to be the Best
On September 1, 1984, the first Arabian race was run at Delaware Park. The race was for maidens, 3-years-old and up running 6 furlongs (3/4 of a mile). The winner was a horse by the name of Locust Tagore, a grey 9-year-old gelding. He defeated 8 other horses and won in a time of 1:21.1. The total purse for the race was $2,750 and total handle was $40,693.
Twenty-three years later, Delaware Park is the premier spot for Arabian racing in the United States. Boasting overnight purses of $9,000-$12,000 and a stakes program worth almost $1 million, here is where you will find the very best!
